 I didn’t have to work yesterday because they got all the stuff loved for the start of the carpet project and there would’ve been nothing to do. 

 

My aunt called me. A few months ago when things were really tight bill wise, they offered to put my phone on their plan as an additional lone because it would only be about $15 a month. I really knew not to trust them but $15 compared to like $60 when other bills were behind and I needed a way to catch up fast…I couldn’t say no. 

 

She called me to tell me that they were switching their plans to another carrier and we would all get new iPhone 12’s that would only be $5 a month for 2 years and I’d still only owe her about $15 per month. 

I looked over their plan quote and there is no way those numbers add up. Plus, the carrier they want doesn’t get great service everywhere around here. And paying off a phone for 2 years is absolutely ridiculous even for $5 a month. 

 

I called my mother because my sister is also on their plan and gave her the heads up and she said that my aunts disability was under review and she suspects that they haven’t been paying the phone bill and are trying to jump ship. 

That’s certainly right up their alley. 

 

So, I called my husband and explained the situation. He took me to the phone store and talked to them about the situation. His phone was older than mine and had a crack in the corner of the screen. They had a buy one, get one deal for people adding a new line to their plan. My husband decided to get us both new phones and just add me to his plan. I’ll take one of the smaller bills that he usually pays and he can handle the bundled phone difference. That way we stick with the carrier that we are happy with and don’t have to deal with my aunt and her husband’s schemes. 

 

I got the iPhone 11 since it was on sale too. They looked into transferring my old phone number but since it was on their account and their account was in fact past due, they couldn’t get access to the phone number. 

Now I have a new number and have to deal with all of that which I suppose isn’t terrible but I’ve had that old number for years and it’s a lot to change it everywhere. 

 

The new phone will take some getting used to. I had the iPhone 8+ before.
